Christmas 2020

 This Christmas was not the same as usual, and I hope for a Christmas miracle yet still, this Christmas tide. Our nation needs to keep the right person in the White House.. . We need Trump.  I feel a mix of nostalgia, dread, hope, and sadness, all rolled into one. This year there were no Christmas parties to sing for, no outdoor tree festivals to gig for, no church choir to be doing Tenor. Everything was different. I looked forward to many things over the years. When I was still a member of Tabernacle Baptist church there would be the choir songs at Bruton Parish in Williamsburg, Christmas gigs with The Meadow Street Band, The Richmond Concert Band at church, christmas parties, and two Christmas Eve services. This year , none of that.  So, this Christmas Eve, I went into the dining room, dimmed the lights,  and listened to the Nativity story on the radio by candlelight. I still found that Christmas magic.
