First Day of Christmas 2023-24

 Most people do not share in celebrating the 12 days of Christmas, most likely due to school and work issues, but I STILL observe all 12 days. The first day is mostly what I celebrate with feasting, though. Otherwise, I wouldn't fit through the door! On Friday, December 22nd, I went to the Nativity at the Richmond Metro Zoo. They had hundreds of people turn out for the 3 shows. It was very packed. I enjoyed seeing the camels. Christmas Eve, I went to a nice service at St. Stephen's church in Richmond. The lighting is heavily dramatic for effect.  I tried to deck the halls a little more this year. Some of the greenery was given to us by friends.                     Christmas Day usually we have a good dinner. Approaching Christmas !

 It's still advent but we are pushed into Christmas and somehow just can't help but getting in the spirit of things. Despite everything, I want to be Merry this Christmas! I visited Tuckahoe Plantation nearby for a guided tour and to see it all decked out for the Holy-Days. My tree in the dining room and front parlor is ready!  I will soon see loads of presents under the tree. I got my train set up this year. I like to decorate for Christmas because it's something my mother used to do and I do it mostly in her honor.  Tuckahoe Plantation smells really nice during the Holy-Days.  Fresh pine smell. I bet Thomas Jefferson would approve of the decorations!  Recently, I visited Ukrop's Market hall for a fried chicken dinner. They really have great gingerbread cookies!                                                        I could...
