Richmond Before The "Woke"

 It's hard to imagine what would happen just 8 years after I took these pictures during the Monument Ave Easter Parade in 2011 and 2012. Notice how no one is upset over a statue, just enjoying the fun and the beautiful weather, along with the colorful display of characters . There were lots of people of all kinds walking around , and live music playing, and food to enjoy . Since the communist take over in 2020, there hasn't been an Easter parade on Monument Ave, and for  good reason- as there really isn't anything left to see! We do still  have the ugly Arthur Ashe monument still on display.  Arthur Ashe was spared the wrath of BLM because he was the right color, but even during the days of the Easter Parade, his side of Monument Ave wasn't utilized. . Nope, people came to hang around Jackson, Davis, Lee, and Stuart. It's a pity now. They should rename it "shrubbery ave". That's all we have left.
