Christmas Seasonal Performance Kick off

I entertained at a local Bed and Breakfast which was very fun. It's a large Southern manor home located in nearby Glen Allen, down the road from the Performing Arts Center.  They had a very nice baby grand in the old parlor. I did mostly Christmas seasonal songs with a few originals mixed in. No microphone was needed. People were browsing around on a tour and I was trying to be as "radio friendly" as possible. It felt a bit awkward when my bluetooth hookup played a bit too loudly . It's hard to sync up everything myself. But overall, everything went smoothly.

They had delicious Brunswick Stew on sight:

A few years ago, I entertained at the Barn stage and that went over right well. It is such a great setting to perform live.

Lots of Vendors were there with arts and crafts. I bought a Santa Cow painting!

From December 2nd, 2023: Here's a recap of last year when I performed at Poplar Hill Plantation , near Blackstone. It was also another Christmas Bizzarre. I had fun, although being so close to the vendors was a tad close for comfort. I had to really adjust my sound so I could hear myself but I was right on someone's table. It wasn't planned out for a live musician and so I was the first they had on schedule.

Sometimes the weather in Virginia for December is rather mild, and you're reminded that technically it's still Fall most of the month. We always think of December as the middle of winter, but to me , at least, it always felt like a crossover month , betwixt fall and winter. I call this time of the year "Finter"

Getting to perform early on before Christmas  kind of gets me in the spirit of the season, and helps me forget my troubles. I look forward to singing for Santa Claus next week at The Farmer's Daughters' Market, near Farmville.
