It's hard to imagine what would happen just 8 years after I took these pictures during the Monument Ave Easter Parade in 2011 and 2012. Notice how no one is upset over a statue. Just enjoying the fun and the beautiful weather. There were lots of people of all kinds walking around , and live music playing. Since the communist take over in 2020, there hasn't been an Easter parade on Monument Ave. For good reason- as there really isn't anything to see. We have the ugly Arthur Ashe monument- but even during the days of the Easter Parade, his side of Monument Ave wasn't utilized. Nope, people came to hang around Jackson, Davis, Lee, and Stuart.
