South Carolina Trip Part 1: Columbia

I had the opportunity to perform for an outdoor market in Charleston, SC, and I decided I would do some sight seeing as well! The first night I stopped in the state capital, Columbia. A very fresh and friendly town with an upbeat vibe. Plenty of great eats at Five Points. My hotel was at the University of South Carolina and within walking distance to most of the historical area. Christmas Time and Tacky Lights and The Jefferson Hotel

Had a ball looking at the colorful lights around Richmond. Got my picture also taken with Santa at one. The tacky lights are very uplifting. Lots of folks were out and enjoying it. The weather was cold, but not unbearable. One place has been doing this since 1974, the longest running "tacky lights" in the area. On Christmas Day we make the annual trek to the Jefferson Hotel to see the beautiful atmosphere! The beautiful Gingerbread House and Nativity The Grand staircase which always was believed to be the inspiration for the one in "Gone With The Wind".
