These pictures were taken in and around Clark's Barn ,in Goochland County, Virginia. I had some publicity photos made, and was testing out my new cowboy style. This was when I was just getting my start in the local Richmond music scene. I worked with a great photographer, a Mister Leland Maurello. He thought the backdrop of the horses and the scenery would give a good illustration for my Blues tinged Country Music style at the time. I was not planning to do any record releases, but I was going to use these for posters and promo spots. These are some of my most favorite pictures because I looked the closest to my ideal weight that I ever had in life. I was 22 years old at the time, and still kind of trying to find my musical niche.
This is when I began calling myself "Meade Skelton" , instead of "Meade Skelton Haufe " or Meade Haufe. We took a lot of these pictures in December , 2001, and someone asked me if I were part Native American. I no longer have the suede cowboy jacket because I grew out of it, not just in width, but in height too. I started wearing cowboy boots around this time as well. It was a great experience. Later on, I merged into the Countrypolitan style, and ditched the fringe and suede, and cowboy hats, for sports coats and seersucker.
