4th of July fizzle

 Not really in much celebration this year because of the cost of everything, but I did manage to put on my patriot shirt and watch the fireworks at Byrd Park. Usually there is quite a lot of atmosphere there- (I shall put it that way), but the earlier storms and thick humidity seemed to keep away most of the riff raff. I was pretty close to detonation, because I could swiftly see the smoke billowing over the sky , and then the gnats were all up in my face.

Had a nice picnic with baby back ribs, plenty of potato salad and beans and sweet tea. Apple pie for dessert is an American staple. 

                               I dressed the part of an American at least
